The Cedar Rapids Community Schools have the second largest enrollment in the state. The district serves over 17,837 students in 24 elementary schools, six middle schools, and four high schools. The Cedar Rapids Community School District also offers alternative schools. The educational program of the Cedar Rapids Schools is designed to provide excellence for all students. The faculty, staff, and parents are all committed to enhancing and improving the academic performance of their students through challenging them in an encouraging environment. The Transition Center of Cedar Rapids Our mission is to assist students in increasing their level of independence within the community. Home School Assistance Program The Cedar Rapids Home School Assistance Program is an alternative kindergarten through 12th grade educational program. It is open to all families who choose to home school their children. Classes, curriculum, field trips, a home school high school diploma, and Learning Fairs are available for families who choose the home schooling option. The CR-HSAP, a part of the Cedar Rapids Community School District since 1988, offers the services of nine certified teachers who support and assist home schooling families in Eastern Iowa and around the state.

Summit Schools is an independent, coeducational Preschool & Pre-K-5th grade school located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa dedicated to the educational and social development of children. It is an alternative to public and parochial education. As the only independent school in the metropolitan area, we enjoy our unique position and are proud of the progress our students make individually and as a whole. Holy Family School System LaSalle Middle School, a member of the Holy Family School System, is a Catholic School located at 3700 1st Ave NW in Cedar Rapids. The mission of the Holy Family School System is to provide all students with a Christ-centered education that is: future oriented, grounded in educational excellence and fosters a sense of community true to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. Xavier High School Xavier Parents for Xcellence (XPX) is an organization that supports and promotes the mission of Xavier High School. This organization is open to all parents/legal guardians of Xavier High School Students. As parent/guardians of a student at Xavier High School you are automatically a member of Xavier Parents for Xcellence. XPX serves as a volunteer base, operates the "Saints Shop", provides hospitality, and organizes social events for the Xavier community. Welcome to The University of Iowa! As many of you know, the UI experienced one of the greatest challenges in its history this past summer: the Flood of 2008. Since June, we have come an extraordinarily long way. Today, while we continue the process of reconstruction, we have successfully opened our campus on time for the fall semester for 30,000 students who want to come here to pursue their educations at The University of Iowa.
